Trends in Computer Science and Information Technology (TCSIT) is committed to promoting equitable access to high-quality publishing opportunities. We recognize that financial constraints should not be a barrier to publishing cutting-edge research. To support researchers from diverse backgrounds, we offer Article Processing Charge (APC) waivers and discounts based on financial need, institutional support, and research impact.

Eligibility for APC Waivers

Authors may request a full or partial APC waiver under the following circumstances:

  • Researchers from Low-Income Countries: Authors affiliated with institutions in countries classified as low-income by the World Bank.
  • Early-Career Researchers & Students: First-time authors, graduate students, or young scholars with limited research funding.
  • Manuscripts of Exceptional Merit: High-impact research recommended by the editorial board for a waiver.
  • Authors Without Institutional Funding: Researchers working independently or without institutional or grant-based financial support.
  • Special Cases: Authors experiencing financial hardship due to unforeseen circumstances.

Types of Waivers & Discounts

TCSIT offers the following types of waivers and discounts:

  • Full Waiver: 100% APC coverage for qualifying authors from low-income countries or exceptional research cases.
  • Partial Waiver: 25%-50% reduction in APC for authors with limited institutional funding.
  • Institutional & Bulk Discounts: Reduced APC for universities, research institutions, and funded research groups submitting multiple papers.

Waiver Application Process

Authors must apply for an APC waiver at the time of manuscript submission. The request should include:

  • Manuscript Title & ID: The title and submission reference number.
  • Author Details: Name, institutional affiliation, and country.
  • Reason for Waiver Request: A brief statement explaining financial limitations or funding constraints.
  • Supporting Documents: Proof of financial hardship, institutional classification, or funding status.

The editorial office will review waiver applications on a case-by-case basis. Authors will be notified of the decision within 7-10 business days.

Important Waiver Policy Notes

  • Waivers must be requested before manuscript acceptance. Requests made after the final decision may not be considered.
  • Waivers do not affect the editorial and peer-review process. All manuscripts undergo the same rigorous review standards.
  • Waiver approval is subject to budget availability. Limited funds are allocated each year, and waivers are granted based on priority and merit.
  • Waivers are non-transferable. If a manuscript is withdrawn or rejected, the waiver does not automatically apply to future submissions.

Conclusion

TCSIT is committed to fostering accessible and inclusive scientific publishing. Our waiver program ensures that researchers, regardless of financial background, have the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of knowledge. We encourage eligible authors to apply and take advantage of this initiative.
