Trends in Computer Science and Information Technology (TCSIT) is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. We recognize that authors may occasionally need to withdraw their manuscripts, and this policy outlines the procedures and potential implications of such withdrawals.

Manuscript Withdrawal Process

Authors wishing to withdraw their manuscript must submit a formal request to the editorial office. This request should include:

  • Manuscript ID: The unique identifier assigned to the submission.
  • Title of the Manuscript: The full title as submitted.
  • Reason for Withdrawal: A detailed explanation for the withdrawal request.

The editorial office will review the request and confirm the withdrawal upon approval.

Withdrawal Fees

Depending on the stage of the review process, the following fees may apply:

  • Before Plagiarism Check: No fee.
  • After Plagiarism Check but Before Peer Review: $249 to cover administrative costs.
  • After Peer Review: $749 to compensate for the resources invested in the review process.
  • At Final Proof Stage: $749 due to the advanced stage of publication preparation.

Retraction Policy

In cases of ethical violations, such as plagiarism, multiple submissions, or fraudulent data, TCSIT reserves the right to retract the article. Retraction involves:

  • Notification: Informing the authors of the retraction decision.
  • Public Statement: Issuing a retraction notice in the journal, explaining the reasons for retraction.
  • Article Removal: Removing the HTML and other versions of the article from the TCSIT database and promotional platforms.

Article Replacement

If an article is found to contain significant errors that could pose a health risk or mislead readers, authors may request to replace the flawed article with a corrected version. This requires:

  • Submission of a Replacement Request: A letter signed by all authors explaining the need for replacement.
  • Approval by the Editorial Board: The board will review the request and decide on its validity.

Legal and Ethical Considerations

In rare instances, an article may need to be removed from the online database due to legal reasons, such as defamation, infringement of legal rights, or court orders. In such cases:

  • Article Removal: The text will be replaced with a notice indicating the article has been removed for legal reasons.

Policy Review

TCSIT regularly reviews its withdrawal and retraction policies to align with international standards and best practices in scholarly publishing. Authors are encouraged to familiarize themselves with these policies to ensure compliance and maintain the integrity of the academic record.
